NICARAGUA: Hostile opposition seeks to unseat Bolaños

As this report goes to press, a delegation from the Organization of American States (OAS) is flying into Managua on a mission to save President Enrique Bolaños. The delegation, led by the acting secretary general of the OAS, Luigi Einaudi, was invited by a beleaguered Bolaños, who claims that he is facing a joint effort by the opposition Sandinistas (FSLN) and Partido Liberal Constitucionalista (PLC) to unseat him.
